New year's..

First of all, I'd like to welcome my ONE follower, the lovely and talented Lisa (blows kiss)..

So, for all the rest who might stumble upon this sooner or later (Good ol' Cyberspace), thought I'd impose some thoughts on this early New year's eve morning..

Last year @ this time, I started work on the prequel for the Remake of John Carpenter's 'the Thing', this day in fact. Still waiting to see how is shapes up, a year later still pretty excited about it.
Hollywood can be a slow machine.

For my New year's resolutions? I've been looking at a lot of Drew Struzan's old movie poster work (he's sadly now retired) and have really gotten more inspired to do more physical painting, traditional. there's just no substitute for the real thing when it comes to paint, and I LOVE the HELL out of  Corel Painter!

But it's quickly becoming a 'comfort zone' (yeah, I've been drawing traditionally for HOURS a day lately), and I want to have a bit more of the gritty, thick, painterly quality that I like so much from Frazetta and Singer-Seargent's work.

more later, big storyboard deadline today. Better get on it...
